Popiah at Spring Court Restaurant

One of the most famous and unique dish in Spring Court Restaurant is their Popiah
The famous popiah of Spring Court Restaurant

Do you know the story behind this famous popiah?

The popiah is unlike the popiah you find in other restaurants. There are more than 10 ingredients in this popiah and the ingredidients are all hand cut and sliced. No machines are used in the the process.

This dish was traditionally made by the mother of lady boss on the first day of every year. All the siblings will gather at the house and catch up while eating popiah. After the passing on of her mother, the lady boss continued the tradition. She cooked this popiah to be shared among her staff one day and they love it so much that they suggested the dish to be sold at Spring Court Resturant.  But,making the popiah is quite complicated and take a longer time than usual to make it as it has ten over ingredients needed to make it. Fortunately, with all the staff's work and contribution, the popiah became very popular. There is now a special counter set up at the restaurant for the sale of this famous popiah.
